I promise...

to update this dang blog more often! Geesh! Once a month just isn't enough. I think that I might go for every Saturday. That's my new goal. We'll see how that goes!

Well, it's almost the end of March. Holy cow! And the economy still bites. Recently, the company I work for, has had to take certain measures to keep us going (and not implementing any layoffs). It started with the managers taking a 10% paycut in January. By February, they decided to have the plant work 4 - 10 hour days, combine third shift into second. I work in the office so, I have to be there 5 days. They also chose to do a 6 week rotation. Everyone is "laid off" 1 out of every 6 weeks. And, on top of that, we all get a 10% paycut. Well, half way through our first rotation, they decided they needed to take more drastic measures. We are now on a 4 week rotation (40 people are on every other week rotation) and management is taking a total of 18% paycut. And, the dollars still aren't looking good. It's really kind of scary. Lucky for us, my income is definately the secondary. We can survive without it.

Anyway, onto happier subjects! The kids and I are off all this week! Woohoo! Lots of cleaning of closets and under the beds this week. And lots of hanging out! I hope to get lots of scrapping done! My 1st week off, I managed to get 9 layouts done! Here area few of my favorites:

So, here's to another week of unemployment!

February is almost over!

Can you believe it??? Spring is around the corner (and, man, am I thankful for that). It's been a quiet month but, that will soon end. Soccer will start before we know it. Then school will be over and summer will be here! Time flies when you're having fun, I guess!

So, things are still going okay in the diet world. I found a pair of size 12 jeans that I haven't been able to fit into for a while and they fit great! That gave me a huge boost of confidence! As far as the family, the kids are doing great in school. Dakota just won 1st place in the 5th grade science fair (despite his procrastination and working on it the very last minute). He really did do a great job! Haleigh has been a reading fool. She can easily fly through a Junie B. chapter book in 2 nights! And she's only in the 2nd grade!!! Brian is still a painting fool. It's nice to be creative together (but he takes up all my space - LOL)! My job, well, I still have it. I am thankful for that. We are starting a 6 week rotation, where we are "unemployed" 1 week out of every 6, taking turns. The first week, I won't even receive unemployment. Kinda bites but, the company is really trying to keep all of their current employees. I can't really complain.

That's it for the Stiner household!

Still truckin' along!

So, I'm still coming along with my weight loss. I've now lost 6 lbs and I'm still eating very low carbs. Hopefully, I'll see a 10 lb weight loss (total) by the end of February. That's my goal, anyway!

Life has been pretty quiet around the Stiner household lately! We've been working on small projects here and there, trying to get this house ready to be put on market. It still seems that we have so much to do and just never enough money/time to do it with. I really hope to be out of this school district by 2010. Even if it means changing the kids' school mid-year. They deserve better. We all deserve better!

I have been creating like crazy this past month! 18 layouts!!! Here are some of my favorites:
These would have to be my top 5. Now, of course, I have NO mojo. I have no idea where it went to but, I think that it's gone for a while. I haven't been feeling very good for a few days (I think that I'm getting a cold or something) so, that could be to blame but, we'll see!

On another note, I would like to say that I am so happy to have what I have. A happy, healthy family. A job. A house. 2 cars. And so on, and so on. So many people are losing there jobs, which in turn, they seem to loose a lot of other things. Then, there are families that just wait to hear good news, such as their little girl's scan to be clear and have no sign of returning cancer (WOOHOO Audrey!). Also, a little girl that I've been following (via web) for the past few months, who was just 4 years old and diagnosed with a brain tumor, has lost her battle. Her family has just lost their little girl. I can't even imagine. That just makes my heart ache. For all the above mentioned. I know that I am truly blessed.

So, I will end this post on that note. Be thankful for all that you have!!!

It's been over 2 weeks.....

and I'm stuck at a 4 lb. weight loss. Ugh. It's getting really frustrating! I'm not losing anymore and, I'm not enjoying all the bad things! I'm going to finish out this week and see where I'm at. I may need to review my diet and see what else is out there, that is reasonable for me.

That's all I'm posting for now....
